Governance

The UAC Ethics and Values poster describes how we work and what we expect. Our aim is to ensure that our work activities cause no harm to people, the environment or material goods.

We select business partners that recognize and are committed to human rights. This is always one of the selection criteria when searching for new suppliers.

Environment

Umoe Advanced Composites develops pressure vessels and modules which serve as sustainable solutions for the transport and storage of compressed gasses.

We play a part in the transition to a greener and more sustainable society. Our manufacturing process consumes 50-85 per cent less energy than pressure vessels made of steel or carbon fibre.

We contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions as energy in 1 kilo of hydrogen is equivalent to approximately 2.8 kilo of petrol. We also calculate our greenhouse gas emissions and disclose the findings in our annual Sustainability Report (LENKE TIL RAPPORT-SIDE).

At the core of our production lies a holistic approach to energy-efficient manufacturing. We understand that the journey towards sustainable manufacturing is an ongoing process, and we are dedicated to continuous innovation and improvement to lower our energy consumption even further.

Social

Umoe Advanced Composites strives to create an environment where employees feel safe, included and healthy. We actively work to increase the competence of our employees, and we have ingrained gender equality into our culture.

We seek to create a space where employees will thrive professionally, financially and emotionally over time. Our organization is flat – allowing our employees to be included in the decision-making process. These factors are likely to increase revenue by contributing to a more efficient, innovative and satisfied workforce.

Our comprehensive safety policy revolves around the belief that the overall well-being of individuals is the most crucial factor in their professional lives. Our Safety Manual describes how our employees are expected to operate to avoid accidents and to maintain a safe workplace.

We keep a record of our employees’ sick leave and injuries, and have a program to follow-up absentees, as required by Norwegian law. We aim to keep sick leave below the average industry level. In 2023, we had a sickness absence rate of 3.6%, which exceeded our target of 3.5% but was well below the industry average in Norway (5.9%).
We engage in local communities as they are important to our employees and the company. HVORDAN?
